Overheard on Conference Calls, a website that showcases the best and worst of the business world, recently ranked the 50 largest cities in the U.S. to find which ones were the best cities for remote workers.

They used five factors determine their ranking: average Wi-Fi speed, coworking spaces per capita, coffee shops per capita, cost of living, and commute time savings. Below we’re featuring the top five from their list.

5 Best Cities for Remote Workers

1. Kansas City, Missouri

Kansas City came in first on the list for its low cost of living and Wi-Fi speed. According to Overheard on Conference Call’s analysis, it had the fastest Wi-Fi in the country.

According to FlexJobs data, Kansas City has the third-largest amount of remote workers in the state, with 4.6% working remotely.

2. Salt Lake City, Utah

Salt Lake City also ranked for its low cost of living. Overall, 6.1% of the Utah population works remotely, with 4.6% of Salt Lake’s population working from home. FlexJobs reports that the state ranks number 25 out 50 for the most remote jobs in the U.S.

3. Austin, Texas

Coming in at number three on the list, Austin is the capital of Texas and has 8.2% of its population working remotely. The state of Texas overall ranks number three out of 50 for having the most remote jobs in the U.S.

4. Raleigh, North Carolina
