There are many great reasons to start an apprenticeship – from getting excellent on-the-job training, through to gaining a professional qualification and enhancing your career prospects. But applying for an apprenticeship isn’t always easy. Especially if you don’t know what types of apprenticeships are on offer.
To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week, and to help get you started, here are just some of the top employers you could find apprenticeships with right now:
About the company: Apprenticeship Connect is a leading apprenticeship training provider and recruitment company, committed to delivering professional training courses to individuals throughout England.
Who is eligible to apply?: Most of the roles just require a few GCSEs to get started (usually in Maths and English). All other training will be provided.

Industry: Sustainable energy

Who is eligible to apply?: Again, GCSEs in Maths and English are essential, as well as three other GCSEs of at least a grade C. However, an alternative vocational Level 3 qualification may also be accepted.

About the company: Greencore is of the UKs leading food manufacturers, supplying retailers with everything from sandwiches, salads, soups and sushi to cooking sauces, condiments, and ready meals.
Who is eligible to apply?: You’ve guessed it – almost anyone with a GCSE in Maths and English (and eligibility to work in the UK) will be considered.

About the company: Intequal is a leading IT and digital apprenticeship provider, and recognised Microsoft Learning Partner. Its apprentices gain real-world experience, whilst earning globally recognised tech qualifications from Microsoft and CompTIA.
Who is eligible to apply?: Anyone with an interest in building a career in tech and a genuine desire to learn.

What apprenticeships are on offer?: Business Administrator apprentices are needed right now, based in Hemel Hempstead.
Who is eligible to apply?: A minimum of five GCSEs at grade C or above, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Industry: Mobile & Communications
About the company: Vodafone is one of the world’s biggest communications technology companies. Founded in 1982, it now provides mobile and technology services to 19 million subscribers.
Who is eligible to apply?: Anyone who is 18 years old or over as of 1st September 2021. You’ll also need at least two A levels, or the equivalent qualifications.
