How FlexJobs Supports Work Flexibility
Since 2007, FlexJobs has supported work-life balance for our employees with a remote company culture and for job seekers with a flexible job search service.
FlexJobs aims to provide employees with the ability create a balanced work life and home life. Our flexible schedules and virtual workplace gives us time to also focus on our families, volunteering, and getting away when needed. This meshes well with Outside‘s focus on inspiring participation in the world outside.
On the job, FlexJobs workers are able to participate in virtual yoga, take work hours to volunteer, and receive stipends for a meditation app and fitness activities. Day-to-day, employees enjoy work-life balance that lets them start their day with a stroll through the neighborhood, pick up their kids from school, and work from unique locations.
Off the job, FlexJobs employees find ways to get outdoors and relax. As a remote company, we touch many spaces in the U.S., and below are a few favorites from employees.
“My family loves cities in northern Minnesota such as Duluth or Grand Marais on Lake Superior. We also love Rainy Lake that is on the Minnesota/Canada border.” -Chris L.
“In the warmer months, when I want to swim in the ocean, I go to Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. When I want to get outside for a bit (but not necessarily swim, especially in the colder months), I like to visit South Harbor Island at Wrightsville Beach, which overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway.” – Megan D.
“One of my favorite places to travel to is Palm Desert, California. We have a family home there. It’s a peaceful place to recharge and relax. We love to go swimming, hiking, and we LOVE feeding the magical giraffes at The Living Desert. It’s our home away from home.” – Stephanie G.
“I’m really down to go anywhere, anytime, but New York City particularly holds a special place in my heart. I only live about an hour away, so I’m not going far, but I go often and when I leave, I miss it for a while. I especially love the girl trips I take with my mom and sister around the holidays, which have been a tradition now for many, many years. We love the shows, the restaurants, the museums, the nightlife, the side-alley neon, the energy and history. I’m having a life-long love affair with New York City and I’m not ashamed to say so.” – Emily M.
“My family and I LOVE Disney! The rides, the shows, the resorts, the FOOD!! Whether you just want to sit by the pool, take an interesting behind the scenes tour, spend the day riding rides and people watching, or doing a pub crawl based on where the monorail takes you, we are always entertained, and love the memories we take home with us each time.” – Julia N.
Flexible Work Makes a Great Work Environment
FlexJobs is honored to join the other great companies on Outside‘s list of 50 great places to work in 2019. We hope to continue to be leaders in promoting work-life balance and healthy company culture, just as we’ve done since 2007.
