Four ways to supplement your income
Need to earn more money at the moment? We can help with that…
Unfortunately, COVID-19 has impacted more than just our daily lives. In fact, for some it’s meant a drop in pay has been inevitable – even if furloughing has meant more have had their overall livelihoods protected. But if you’re looking to earn a little extra, don’t panic.
To help you make more money outside of your day job, here are four easy ways you could be supplementing your income right now:
Got some free time during lockdown? Why not try freelancing?
Not only is it one of the quickest ways to earn extra cash, it’s also a great way to add to your experience and get your name out there within your industry.
And with employers on the lookout for everything from copywriters and graphic designers, through to developers and SEO experts, wherever your skills may lie, there’s something out there to suit you.
Just find a freelancing site online, and give it a go.
Start a blog
If your skills lie specifically within writing, photography or videography, blogging might be a better way to go.
There are plenty of free tools out there to help you build and customise your site. And once you’ve built up a bit of a following, you’ll be able to start monetising your content by setting up ads. Many bloggers and vloggers also get offered freebies for reviews, unboxings and product tests.
In fact, the vlogging community have been some of those least affected by the current economic climate – with up-to-date, relevant content more in demand than ever.
Just make sure you work out your USPs before you get started. That way, whether you’re into travel, fashion and beauty, sports or anything else, you’ll have a reason to stand out from the crowd.
Not all extra income opportunities require you to be creative.
Teaching and tutoring are flexible ways to add to your cash flow, and allow you to fit working around any additional commitments. You’ll also get the added bonus of helping other people expand their horizons and learn something new as part of the process.
It could be a second language. It could be algebra. Or it could be the accordion. But whatever it is, you can be sure that there are dozens of potential students out there willing to learn.
All you need is a good internet connection, access to Zoom, and a willing pupil.
Because sometimes it really is about what you know…
Have a clear out
There are many great reasons to get rid of your unwanted items.
Firstly, it’s a good way to free up space and declutter. And less waste also has a positive impact on the environment. But, perhaps more importantly, it’s a really easy way to earn extra cash.
Offloading your excess objects every few months could provide you with a much needed cash injection when you really need it. At the very least, you’ll have some money available to replace or upgrade what you’ve lost.
Whoever said you can’t get money for old rope?
