Champions for Children: How to double your donation

COVID-19 has affected us all – and many still need our help.

Disadvantaged and vulnerable children, in particular, desperately need help to recover from the impact Coronavirus continues to have on their lives. The Big Give, the UK’s leading online match funding platform, have launched their summer fundraising campaign The Champions for Children to help – and there’s still time to get involved.

Here’s everything you need to know about Champions for Children, how you can get your donation DOUBLED: 


What is the Big Give?

The Big Give is a non-profit organisation, which provides a platform for individuals to discover charities and make donations.

They also offer the opportunity to double your donations throughout the year, through match funding campaigns – including their Summer and Christmas Challenges.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Big Give has raised over £1.35m for the National Emergencies Trust to support with the recovery from the crisis.

Their current campaign is Champions for Children.


What is the Champions for Children campaign?

In partnership with The Childhood Trust, London’s leading child poverty charity, The Champions for Children campaign has been launched in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Featuring 95 different charities, it will help support over 100,000 disadvantaged and vulnerable children across the capital who continue to be impacted by the crisis. 

The campaign started on Tuesday 23rd of June.


How long will donations be doubled?

Champions for Children ends at 12pm on Tuesday 30th June. 

Over £1.5 million worth of match funding is available – meaning donations will continue to be doubled until these funds run out. 

More than £900,000 of the match funds are being provided by The Childhood Trust.
